The papers of Arthur Bernon Tourtellot consist of materials gathered and prepared as a sequel volume to his _Benjamin Franklin: The Shaping of Genius, the Boston Years_. There are two typescript drafts of chapters. There are also photocopies of articles about Benjamin Franklin and three notebooks containing the following: "Chronological Concordance, Benjamin and William Franklin, 1723-1813"; "Benjamin Franklin and Son: A Family Chronicle of Rebellion vs. Loyalty"; and "Queries, Bibliography, Benjamin and William Franklin, 1730-1813."

Arthur Bernon Tourtellot (1913-1977) graduated from Harvard University in 1935. He worked at Time, Life, Inc. and later became a vice-president of CBS. He wrote several books, including _William Diamond's Drum_ (Doubleday, 1959) and _Benjamin Franklin: The Shaping of Genius, the Boston Years_ (Doubleday, 1977).
